Bye, Yahoo! Switching to MSN as soon as I post this.
After having Yahoo! as my homepage for nearly 16 years, I'm officially done. This new page is missing everything I liked about the old Yahoo! But now you have taken away the smart carousel, the customization options and sensible "Front Page" design that provided better organization and a focal point. This new version looks like it was pieced together by a 12 year old with no regard for web page design best practices or UX. And this 1:1 ratio of content to ads is ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the completely irrelevant twitter feed you are forcing upon your users. Or the fact that I have to change my screen to 75% in order to access the full left nav bar. Oh, and add that there was no customer communication advising users of what was coming or why this design was chosen. Add it all together and you have succeeded in launching an abysmal product and creating a horrific end-user experience. This launch was poorly designed and poorly executed. If you decide to bring back what was actually good about yahoo, be sure MSN posts it on their homepage. Because that's where I will be getting my news starting now.
