Yahoo we don't need you to censor us in an effort to avoid controversy.
Today you reposted an article from The Atlantic about advertising agencies who unintentionally perpetuated racism against black people even though they were trying to attract them or "help" them. Apparently you are incapable of detecting irony or your own hypocrisy. At the end of that article you took away the ability for users to add comments. Historically this is your default decision on almost every article that is specifically about black people or black issues. Do you really not see that you are guilty of doing exactly what you decried in your article? Black people do not need your "protection" against commentary, be it racist or otherwise. In essence what you are doing is engaging in and furthering the old post civil rights tactic of acting like black people need the help of white people to "protect" them from the world. You are not helping anyone by sheltering them. What you are REALLY doing is being the new ***** master. Saying that black people could not possibly make it in a tough world without a white person to "protect" them. You are also doing a disservice to every non racist person out there by assuming that everyone who comments on a black themed article must be there to post racist comments. All yourself, do you remove the ability to comment on articles aimed at Asain, Hispanic or Arabic persons? Apparently though the black man still needs the rich, white masters at Yahoo to survive in the world. Examine your behaviors Yahoo...then change them. Black people do not need your protection.
