Content control
I wish the Yahoo News app for iPhone would allow you to control content. For ex, I want to shut off Fox News so it doesn’t appear on my app. I can’t believe it doesn’t have this feature already.

Allow individual news source filtering
The NYT constantly pushes victim stories. CNN, the AP, and MSNBC sound like constant streams of quotes from Marx, Lenin, Engels, and Piketty. Fox News and the NY Post invariably push counterfactual content written by morons for the consumption of idiots. We must have the option to remove this brain damaging content. Enough of this tribalism!

AI summary function
I moved here from Artifact the news app, as per their recommendation. One of the best things that they did was have an AI function to summarize the article. I hope you’re able to implement that feature, and secondly really clean up the UXUI to make it uniform and symmetrical.

Local news stories that are 10-20 years old
Why are some of the local stories of the day up to 20 years old? In July 2023 i get 2007 reporting on a truck that rolled over on a ramp. And an October 2015 story about paddlefish poachers that were caught in the act. What’s worse, the headline on the main page says the old stories were posted just hours ago. Your algorithms are messed up badly.

Stop posting headlines with women’s ages
Every article about a female celebrity or public figure is always accompanied by their age - totally irrelevant, sexist and ageist. This is rarely seen with articles about male celebrities or public figures and it perpetuates the cultural stigma of women aging. It’s possible to report a story without having to mention anyone’s age.

“Local News” needs to be more targeted. I live in Cook County IL which includes the City of Chicago. So “local” is only NW suburban of cook

Today my “local news” feed consisted solely of an article listing the 2022 college honors students from Kendall County IL - 100% irrelevant to me!

Stop diverting me from the article to the same article in either news or finance, I start reading the page get half way down and start again
Stop diverting and reloading the page in its category eg finance or news or what category it is in, I have half read the article by the time you divert then I have to wait for it to load and then have to scroll back to where I was, just stop it, it is so annoying

I use to get Fox News, but am not anymore. Please add Fox News to your news coverage. Not all of us are progressive liberals!

The National Review feed hasn’t been updated in a number of months.
I noticed that content on the National Review feed no longer seems to be updated as of roughly eight months ago. For reference, Kevin McCarthy was still the House Speaker when the most recent articles were published. Is this a bug or does Yahoo no longer have a relationship with NR? If the latter, that’s a shame for thoughtful viewpoint diversity on the platform. Otherwise, love the app!

Pictures within stories can’t be zoomed in on iOs devices. Gestures and double taps have no effect. Please make images zoomable.

No cell phone or tablet
I have no cell phone or tablet of any type so sending me any thing in email about getting the app does not do me any good. So please stop sending me emails that require me to get an app. Thank you
