I click on "compose e-mail" and then usually type the first few letters of the addressee and the address pops on there. Mine will not work

I want the classic back. The new format has too many "bugs" and I can't get it to work. Just to compose an e-mail, I have to go to the contacts list and memorize the persons address and return to the e-mail and type address in. It will not pop on automatically like it use to. BUMMER!!
