Without adding an email address cant save the new contact.All humans in this planet do not have an email address, but a contact should be saved by having a phone number or address or any other way to save the email subscriber want.
The earlier version gave did not restrict the way the subscriber want to save.
even they do not have an option to go back to old version

Yahoo,
Please add a CUSTOM LABEL (like in the I phone contacts) for contacts.
It will allow us to customise the contact information as we like, as a personal preference.
