Every time you make an "UPGRADE" it's more of a "DOWNGRADE." Leave it alone. It isn't broken, don't fix it. I don't want to continually spend time re-learning how to use something that you call "improved." My inbox was perfectly user-friendly several upgrades ago, and I was happy with it. My time is valuable to me. If I were to charge you for my time to re-learn on every upgrade, you wouldn't be happy.
