Comments sensitive text algorithm
I don’t know how this works exactly, but it must be some sort of algorithm. It is broken.
I just attempted multiple times to post a comment, including verifiable facts, regarding nuclear power as an energy source. This was an OP, not a reply.
It was immediately rejected, even after editing it twice.
Nothing was offensive, sensitive, or even questionable in tact. Yet, it was still rejected.
I clicked on the why button. It gave no explanation, not even a set of examples. The “guidelines” listed there are far too vague.
You need to either
A; dial back the sensitivity of the algorithm you’re using, or
B; highlight the word(s) the algorithm detected enabling people to understand what words you deem offensive.... because clearly you deem some mundane words such as “nuclear” or “safe” or “design” to be offensive. ESPECIALLY if you are going to threaten users with having their account deactivated. Yahoo needs to act in good faith here and provide users with a reasonable opportunity to comply with rules that are not clearly defined by editing highlighted portions, or something along those lines.
The algorithm is detecting things that are not offensive in any way, in any language. This is a problem.
I don’t know how your algorithm is broken, but it most certainly is in need of serious review.
