THE CHEM IS CALLED SODIUM NITRITE, it is used as a meat preservative. It also has a close relative called SODIUM NITRATE also used in preserving meat...you can find it in your hot dogs, salami and bologna plus many other products. I keep at least 2 pounds of each on hand in my pantry at all times, it is legal to buy and should stay that way....not my problem if some ****** wants to off himself with it....
