If you are going to eradicate comments to your news stories, just do away with any news that is controversial and talk about the weather and how many chickens farmer Jones is going to have next year. Your viewers would move to other news outlets and your audience will greatly decline. I pointed out before it is better to punish the ones who violate your standard of ethics than to punish everybody who try to follow your guidelines. As a veteran and educator, it doesn't make any sense to me. You will lose part of your audience in the end.
