data download: many problems
The new Yahoo Finance is dysfunctional for data access/download.|
1. Users can't display historical data and then select the data they want to use and copy it. In the old Finance, that worked fine, so it "should" be easy to fix. But you haven't fixed it.
2. In the chart view you offer an option to display the data, copy it and/or download it. But there are lots of problems with it. If one downloads it, 2 problems: volume in a spreadsheet is displayed as text, not numeric, and the latest day's data is excluded entirely. Dysfunctional. If otoh, one highlights the data displayed in the form field (Date, O, H, L, C, vol) and copies it, and pastes to a spreadsheet, it displays in 2 columns (that is, vertically), a date column, and a separate column for O, H, L, C, and vol, displayed vertically. Again dysfunctional. It should paste into the spreadsheet horizontally, as it is displayed on the screen, one day per line, with each line having Date, O, H, L, C, and vol.
PLEASE fix these problems, preferably first fixing the historical data display so fields or lines can be copied directly.
Thanks.
