Would you believe that in the older version of Yahoo! Groups, everything WORKED!? I have been using Yahoo since 1997 and we had none of these issues UNTIL Melissa came aboard and wanted changes under her name. To save $$, she got rid of the senior programmers (who build Yahoo! from the ground up) and replaced them with junior know-nothings who happily went to work and WRECKED everything they touched.
Yahoo! today is a shadow of what it once was. Gone are all the games and other useful features we once enjoyed, and what's left is not as good as what once was, or only fitfully, works, as with Groups and missing files and features. Melissa and crew tanked a really good company that once was ahead of the times. Now, it cam barely keep up... really, it's fallen behind. Sad to say, Google has moved ahead and now has everything (and more) than Yahoo! now has. When you get tired of this train wreck, try setting up your work and group in Google+. It's worth the bit of learning curve you will need to get started.
I am the Creator/Owner of a group and I can't delete it either.
they are letting groups die...
Yahoo used to be a wonderful, fully function suit of tools. However, we were sold out by Marissa Mayer... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marissa_Mayer . NOTE: she worked for Google PRIOR to her joining Yahoo. I think she was sent to destroy Yahoo, which at that time was years ahead and FAR better than Google. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
I agree... it worked and you could change more settings than this BUGGY newer version! Now I have duplicate emails in my sent box without a way to correct it. WHY!? Because I can't stop sending a copy to myself as I was once able to under TOOLS -> OPTIONS. Another Yahoo fubar because stuff they put out is no longer thoroughly tested as it should be. In too much of a hurry to get new products out... REGARDLESS of problems or inconvenience to users.
I am having the same issue! At one time, you could correct this under TOOLS | options. That's no longer available, so how do we stop this from happening!?
It's been that way ever since ceo melissa and her wrecking crew came aboard a few years ago. before then, everything worked and the site and features were very stable. now, every change they make breaks something else and creates an ongoing lack of stability on the site for users.
