A disproportionate number of users are not there to discuss an article or story. Their numbers are equal to if not greater than people who just want to have a civilized discussion.They are there for the express purpose of upsetting people. Some of the worst types of racism and bigotry I have seen. Comments made only to disrupt the conversation and anger people. Many are harassing and menacing. Report abuse isn't working - at least not for someone who began stalking me. He is still there and still striking out at me. Once I report that he shouldn't even by on the forum less alone allowed to keep commenting to me.

Suggestion: add an ability to stop following a post like FB has. Individually removing comments is very inconvenient. I hate getting 146 separate notifications that I got a thumb up on a single comment. Add an ability to block a user - again like FB has - click and they are gone.

This is not a matter of being "thin skinned". I have had comments from others who have expressed the same problem with trouble makers following them around from thread to thread and harassing them.

I have considered closing my account but yesterday I changed my name for the second time in an effort to lose some of this unwanted attention. If it starts up again I will have to close my account.
