The only thing I really don't like is the huge semi-transparent bar that ends up across the bottom half of the pictures. Please put in a way to disable this or make it only appear when you hover over the main picture.

The smaller pictures below have the headline for the story so there is no need to put the whole thing on the big picture....making the banner appear across the picture ONLY when the picture is hovered over and then disappear if the cursor is moved away would be a great improvement. As it is now almost a third of each photo is covered up by an unnecessary banner.
