Hello. I was directed here by the Yahoo customer care profile on X/Twitter.

I'd like to report what I'm certain seems like a bug whenever I try to log into yahoo. This has been happening since late December (just before the holidays).

If I log into my yahoo account the first time on a browser, I type my password, and I get let in straight away.

However, if I log out on the same browser, same device, every subsequent attempt gets asked to provide a verification code. Even if I click the checkbox to "stay verified", it keeps asking for it again.

At this point, I'm fully convinced this is a technical bug, especially seeing as I don't get asked for the code on my first log in on a new browser. It feels like it's supposed to be the other way around (ask for the verification on the first log-in, then remember the device and not ask for it again).

I also want to note that the SMS text message option for the verification code doesn't work (email options work fine though). The text messages aren't being received, and yes, I did test the receiving phone, and it does receive SMS messages that are sent normally.
