What happened to "Find Nearby"?
I used to be able to enter a location and then find nearby businesses of a given type (hotels, restaurants, etc). Where did that feature go?
The ONLY reason I would use Yahoo Maps over Google maps was for this function. Now that you took it away. There's no reason for me to use your application.
Complete fail on Yahoo's part to remove this function.

Shrikant, while your comment of "You can try searching for any given business after having searched location from top header search box." is helpful (although I haven't tried it yet), I must say it wasn't obvious. It is not intuitive.
The nicest thing about the old Yahoo maps was the "find near by" Why was it taken away?
Yahoo maps without the find it feature makes the maps practically worthless. I have used it for years and now I will probably never come back here. Thanks for ruining a good thing.
I use google maps for everything except find nearby which used to be excellent feature on yahoo maps. you can look at restaurants, reviews for restaurants, and all that. now its gone....so why have maps? Useless now.

Find nearby feature is reintroduced.
Where is nearby
I really need that "find nearby" feature, without which I would not find the map useful. Why is that taken away?
What happened to the Find Nearby? I think Yahoo must be planning to shut down their maps page so they're trying to get rid of us by making it ******. It's new, but not improved!

I agree with all those here... I too have been asked for years by work colleagues why I used YAHOO maps... and the "nearby" feature is why... I had even added YAHOO maps to my browser toolbar... this is way way way too bad!
For years everyone has said to me, "I can't believe you use Yahoo maps?" I tried all the others and Yahoo did everything I needed easily, where the others did not even do them. For many years I've made tons of travel arrangements for many execs, and Yahoo maps was so thorough and efficient for finding everything I needed, and providing the easiest maneuverability, useful links and information, and certainly the best maps for quickly comparing options for routes or hotels, and excellent printed maps. They have ruined my life. I've really tried to adapt, and tried the other maps on the Internet, and nothing works. I wish high tech would stop trying to improve on excellent and learn that newer and fancier often ain't better. Dang it! I'm too old for all these changes, but can eventually accept them if they're really better. But when they suck, it just makes this hard life more complicated and challenging. But then, I would go back to the typewriter and looking stuff up in books if it were up to me. Seemed like a healthier use of the brain.
I have bee hanging with yahoo long past most people I know.
But now that the find nearby feature is gone... there is not much reason to use the site ever.
What kind of a @$%ing idiot thought removing that simple feature was a good idea!!!
Maybe it was one of the workers who was ****** off at not being able to telecommute anymore.
Because it surely could not have been someone with 1/2 a brain!!!

What happened to Yahoo Maps? I liked it the way it was - it worked!
BIG MESSAGE: GOES BACK A THOUSAND YEARS FROM THE DAYS OF THE CHIN DYNASTY:
IF IT WORKS - DON'T FIX IT!!!!!
Old yahoo has find local business an essential for us who travel. This new yahoo maps sucks!!
I can no longer get back to yahoo classic maps and that sucks as well.
This is the "WORST UP GRADE EVER"

Yahoo is FAMOUS for taking something that works... or at least sorta works... then making it "better" simply by making it worse. the good news is, yahoo is consistant and does this all of the time. ****** ol Google is looking better and better...
Without the "find Nearby" and business locator on yahoo maps, it takes hours to search when planning a trip. Even yahoo. travel does not compare to the ease of the old yahoo map.

Example : Search for sunnyvale,ca and then search for pizza
You can try searching for any given business after having searched location from top header search box.
