I tried Yahoo maps to specifically get away from the faulty Google map idea that a map should open at your current location ... this is idiotic behavior ... I already know here I am what I always want to see is the large perspective around some other location (otherwise there's no need for a map!)

So NEVER open the map to what you think is the user's current location. Open to the national (or global) perspective and let us navigate from there.
