Please provide a way for users in Australia to speak with a real person for account and privacy issues.
Dear Yahoo Privacy Team,
I am writing to exercise my rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988.
My old Yahoo account is currently inaccessible to me, and because I no longer have access to my recovery email and phone number, I am unable to use the automated recovery process. This means I cannot access, correct, or manage my personal information held by Yahoo.
I have tried to find a way to contact Yahoo directly to resolve this, but there is no available support channel in Australia (the paid customer support option is not available here). As a result, I am unable to access my own personal data.
Under Australian privacy law, I am requesting:
1. Assistance regaining access to my account OR another secure method to access my personal information.
2. Confirmation that my personal information is still being held securely and not being used or disclosed without my consent.
Please treat this as a formal privacy request. If I do not receive a satisfactory response within 30 days, I may escalate this matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Thank you for your assistance.
