Hey Yahoo, can you let me opt out of changing my password or giving you my mobile phone number.
For a few weeks now, every time I log in to Yahoo I get asked to change my password and to give you my mobile phone number. I am happy with the level of security of my password and I am Not giving you my mobile phone number. Please give me the option to opt out of receiving this message. If I opt out then I am assuming the risk of my email being hacked.

I am looking at this subject and find lots of comments but none from Yahoo. Did they actually reply to the original post or just ignore it ?

I am Not prepared to spend near thousand dollars to buy a mobile phone that I do not need in order to get a Flickr account. I also have a gripe with having no access to my Mail account because I cannot remember the exact wording of my secret question which I am not supposed to record as it is ...secret... Better solutions please!

I understand the need for an additional layer of security, however, it would be great if the system works 99.9% of the time. Several times now, I select the call mobile # icon and I get a call with no voice code, a couple of calls with different codes and I cannot get a sms message and this results in me not able to access my yahoo mail account. Then trying to get to yahoo support - well, that's another joke. I am going to investigate moving to another email service.

I totally agree. Give your mobile phone number away get many adverts on your mobile phone usually by third parties.
Nothing worse then being bombarded with advertising you do want especially on your mobile phone, or home phone or at your house.
It is my opinion that all advertising should be user initiated and the viewer should not be charged to view it. Currently adverts are part of your download quota that your ISP charges you. Adverts should be a link by a word, icon, or picture that the user clicks on to view the advert. -

Yahoo obviously can't stop hackers gaining access to OUR PRIIVATE INFORMATION and now it want us to provide even more data, specifically mobile phone numbers. Doubtless, given the recent addition of unwanted garbage in the form of advertising now being placed into inboxes, if you are stupid enough to provide your mobile number to Yahoo, you can look forward to being bombarded with unsolicited adverts at all hours via your phone from Yahoo and its sponsors. NOTE THIS YAHOO YOU WILL NOT BE GETTING MY MOBILE NUMBER FROM ME FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. GET RID OF THE ADVERTISING IN THE INBOXES

I don't have a mobile, and if I did I wouldn't give you the number. STOP asking me to provide one to you!

I am 76 I can easily remember my password as I have used it for many years, you seem to show no consideration for us older people shame on you. My mobile phone number is just that!!! Let us at least opt out of your time wasting entry to an otherwise extremly good email service

If I want to change my password, I will do so.....what youre actually doing is making it really long winded to go between the email accounts I have with yahoo.....and when one of those is a business account, thats really painful, its not as though I can quickly or easily change to a different email service.....I dont want to have to notify every one of my customers that we've changed addresses just because yahoo is driving me around the twist!! Bring back the old layout and stop asking the same questions over and over again....

I agree with the above comment, stop asking about changing our password, and put you effort into putting back the old homepage
