Commissioner Tools - Allow commissioners to retroactively edit team picks
Requests to allow commissioners to retroactively change team picks for managers in their group.

If players were uncomfortable with this they would leave my pool. Almost everyone in my pool knows each other. It would not be that big of a deal.

I thought my team pick was saved. I got an error message originally but thought I fixed it. Only my confidence points were saved and now I have lost a lot of points on an easy pick.

I have a team manager that submitted his picks in writing and one of the team picks was entered incorrectly resulting in a loss of 14 points when it should have been a gain of 14 points. How can that team selection be changed?
-
Lee Dempsey commented
This needs to be added asap. One team was not able to login the entire weekend and now we have to manually keep track of their picks, which defeats the purpose of doing it on here.

When will this be changed?

All league commissioners to merge two "teams" when a player forgets his login or password and starts a new team to get his picks in. Having to account for two teams from the same owner is unfair to other owners and a hardship on the league commissioner.

This is family league so if people forgot picks I contact them and get their pick ASAP. But then I need to do manual adjustments. Would be great if I can edit the picks during and AFTER the games. Add some large CHANGED field by the picks so every one knows it was done Make this OPTIONAL so each league can decide how they want to run it

Totally disagree with this. Commissioner with ability to change picks post deadline will invite suspicion among players. This lock is good the way it is. If players missed making their picks or forgot to save their picks then that's on them.

With the postponed games this week, they completely erased my picks/points. There was no notification they were going to do this. The games are still being played in Week 15, so there's no reason to do it anyways.
This is costing me a lot of money. Yahoo is criminal! -

I like this idea, make it so the commissioner can opt in or out and post this choice open on the sight. Lock this option after the season begins

Yes, please! Every season we have an issue with dropped picks - the player sends me a screen shot where their picks were all saved, but for some reason once the game starts there is no pick selected. Allowing commish to enter picks once a game has started should be a league option when setting up the league.

Totally agree!! I have a cousin currently deployed and does have connections issues at times so he emails me his picks as well. This past week his picks were not saved, I should be able to go in and fix that as the commish, especially on private family leagues that do this for fun and bargain rights. Now I have to update the family every week on his actual record because of not being able to fix it

Totally agree with this post!! I have a private family pool and had a cousin even email me his picks prior to deadline because his picks were not being save, he is currently deployed and does have connection issues at times! This would be EXTREMELY helpful to be able to do this, now I have to update the league every week of his actual correct record because of this

I totally agree with this. We are dealing with the same situation here. Life happens and this flexibility would be so welcome.
Did you figure out a way to update @Stefan Schneider? I assume Yahoo can do this for us...

I disagree completely. There is a hard deadline to keep things fair for everyone. As Commish that's 1 less headache I need is having to try to input picks after the deadline due to poor time management or whatever. If that option were made available I would not use it in my league. I have enough trouble recruiting and collecting.

I'd be skeptical and leery of joining a ProPickEm league where the Commish has the ability to go in and change picks after a deadline. If Yahoo! ever offered the option for the Commish to have that ability I'd steer clear of it at all costs. The just goes to the integrity of the league to make those type of changes. Get your picks in prior to the deadline and check to make sure they are in and verified and leave me alone.
I totally agee with the Commish having access PRIOR to the deadline to make picks for those with computer issues, but once the deadline passes, there's a deadline for a reason.

I am a league commissioner and I do not like the idea of retroactive changes to the picks. All too often a manager will simply miss a pick by accident, or simply forget to click on "save" after making his or her picks (have done it myself) and there is just too much room for abuse.

Steve Kacz commented
This is highly needed for private leagues as it impacts both weekly and year end standings. Another option would be for the person who missed the deadline to default their picks, like all home teams.
This limitation in the functionality will make me look for another site to manage our private leagues in the future.

Stefan Schneider commented
As the commissioner of a league I should be able to change picks after the deadline for people that send me their picks because they are having computer problems.
For example, if a friend makes his picks and something goes wrong and the picks don't save, but he has documentation that he made the picks, I as the commissioner need to have a way to change that.

The commish should be allowed to edit someone's picks after games are played. Emergencies or other issues arise sometimes where someone cannot get their picks in. There needs to be a way the commish can fix the games for them.
