spam inundating Finance
Yahoo Finance Conversations have become infested by spammers, at least one of which is a paid pumper. This started about 3 months ago and now more and more "copy cats" have figured out how to do it so I suspect it's only going to get worse.
On the day before Thanksgiving I did a one hour survey, from 1/2 hour before the bell to 1/2 hour after, of 50 different stock conversations that I frequent. Four different spammers had 87 spams posted, (with perhaps 10%-15% being "old" ones from the day before.)
On one conversation the top 9 conversations had 6 spams.
The most prolific one, and the one that seems to have started it all, had a total of 46 spam that re-directed to two different domains. Both of those domains have disclaimers that they were paid to "advertise".
The up-thumb down-thumb are a complete joke. The spammers just keep putting more and more "up's" to keep them at the top. I watched one day as a spammer posted 25 "likes" in the first 3 minutes his spam was up.
I've seen one spammer have 79 different "likes" on a conversation that has never even had more than 5 "likes" in a single post during the past 2 months, (and that spam is still up and you can see it at: https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/AQSZF/community, page 4, where it shows it's been up for 2 months despite that fact that there were a number of people who stated they sent a spam report, including at least and perhaps more then one, from me).
Muting someone is worthless as they have hundreds of names they use to post.
These people are using your resources for their gain while angering the people in Conversations. That doesn't seem to good business plan for Yahoo, nor is it good for the people that fall for their manipulation.
I'll leave it at that and I've got tons more information about this. But I tire of the hoops I've had to jump through trying to get you do to something about this and if it isn't fixed I'll join all the other dissatisfied people that have flown the coop.

UN-Fing believable. A week goes by without anyone giving a ****.
.
Meanwhile, the spam gets worse and worse.Right now on TLRY, Tradingview.com, (who says on their website that they are "being compensated $10,000"), has 8 spam pushing "SING". EIGHT out of the 20 conversations on page one!
They also have one other spam pushing "BRVO" on the page, making it 9 in total.
And along with that is one spam from the OTHER major spammer, StockPrice.com or MarijuanaStocks.com, (take your pick because they are one and the same), who ALSO state they are being "compensated" for the "advertisements" they post.
That makes 50% of the conversations on that page right now are spam.
You should be proud of yourself. You've taken a nice way for people to converse about stock issues and turned it into a cesspool.
And don't forget there is a very good chance that anyone who goes to those links and ends up buying will probably lose most or all of their money, while the spammers make out like bandits.
