    The extension can be disabled or removed.
    From the menu bar, click Tools,, then Add-Ons. In your menu bar is not visible, Alt-T will get you to the menu, select Add-Ons (or, Ctrl + Shift +A is more direct). Under extensions,, look for a "Y" in a circle ... the title is "Search and New Tab by Yahoo". Select disable or remove, restart your browser. That's all.

    I tried re-installing an older version of Firefox and still get the "New Tab by Yahoo" when I go to open a new tab, and they have removed the options to change it. It is just like a brand-new Vacuum Cleaner -- it really sucks! I suspect that enough money has changed hands between Mozilla and Yahoo that caring about what the end-users want becomes a non-issue. Maybe I'll try Chrome, or even (shudder) Internet Explorer..

    Does any one get the poster Up dated terms, from yahoo, it is stopping me from getting into my emails?? I CAN'T SEEM TO GET A HOLD OF SOMEONE IN YAHOO!!? PAISY 5.

    This new one is wack! Some of the pics are huge and creepy in the face. And the bubbles are stupid. They offer very little help in getting to my favorites since the initials often have nothing to do with labeling the web site. I hate it!!! Must uninstall if no other way to make it go away.
