How can we improve New Mail?

Why are emails I replied to showing as drafts when I click on Sent mail? Did they go through or not?

My replies are still showing as drafts when I click on Sent. How do I know if they went through?

    This is very confusing. Sent emails have been sent, Draft emails have not been sent. Please don't mix them up.
    Furthermore if I click on an item marked as Draft in the Sent folder, the message is momentarily displayed and then almost immediately removed again (Firefox 59.0.2 on Ubuntu Linux). What use is that?
