Why would Yahoo think that eliminating a search feature was an improvement ?? I need to sort by subject or sender and now can not do either. There seems to be NO efficient way to sort messages anymore.
Why ?? Why ?? Why ??? -

Search functionality has been deteriorating for the last 20 years.

Old version Search box had options to search in a specific folder and it would list if the search is in a folder or not. So much easier to sort mail, please bring that back!

Not sure what you have done to the search tool but now it doesn't give me the option to choose what folder to search and it just searches ALL FOLDERS! then it includes exact wording aswell as similar wording! wtf !!??

At one time, when we searched our mail the results from the Trash folder showed in the list with strikeouts to show they had been deleted. This feature disappeared even before you made the recent changes to basic mail. Sometimes I delete something by mistake, and the item may be several days old; having to search the trash folder manually is a pain. I need to be able to search the Trash folder so I can easily find something which may have been deleted in error. Thank you.

Bring back the ability to search for an email in a SPECIFIC location such as your in-box or out-box or Drafts or where ever. This new yahoo searches everything or maybe just the inbox is it hard to tell. Users have no option anymore of choosing where to search.

WHY?? Very digusted every thing take 3 times the clicks and effort to accomplish. where is the search glass to pull up all alike emails? So many more issues I dislike. Please listen to your users and allow us to go back to classic mail. This has really slowed me down and I plan to start using my other email if I can not go back to classic. It has so many more features that are simple and easy to use and I have been asking myself why I even messed with Yahoo anyway. You know creatures of habit but you have now given me a reason to change and be happier with my service

Make it where I can filter my search for mail by "inbox" so I don't get stuff that's already in folders.

Simple. Allow me to use my original simple E-mail home page not this stupid purple, blue or whatever you call it. I was able to use my search bar to search the web. Now when I try to use the search bar for that purpose it only want to search for "Messages"??? how stupid

There is nothing that's changed in the new basic email version in 2019 that makes my email work better. There are a lot of changes in the color, appearance, and all of the toolbar has been rearranged, the "search the web" is now "search the email". Why would I want to search my email?
I don't really care what color the email is, I just want the old arrangement back. -

so terrible, I searched by keyword from all mails, and there is no previous and next buttons. I have to back to search, then open the next mail.

Put the internet search bar back.

Let's just be honest - your changes aren't primarily to improve Basic, they're to further encourge migration to Standard Mail, where I assume there are more opportunities for Yahoo to realize revenue.
At least restore the ability to search Web as well as Mail from Mail search box.

I was possible to search the web before you idiots "fixed" the mail. Put it back the way it was, or at least give users a choice.

TBF this seemed to have become a problem in the "actual" classic interface, last time I tried to see whether an email returned by the search was still in the inbox or if I'd sorted it into a folder. Had to externally take note of its details and then return to the inbox view to search by date.
It's still a bug / misfeature, and an annoying, stupid, and inexplicable one at that, but maybe not one unique to the new interface.
