Pretty simple
I can’t receive verification codes from any site at my Yahoo address. This is not just one company but multiple completely unrelated sites. Normal email comes through fine, but verification emails and codes never arrive.
Your help system’s advice is to “sign into your account,” which is absurd since I have to be signed into my account to see that I am not receiving the emails. No, it is not in spam. No, it is not in trash. No, it is not blocked. Yes, the contact has been added to my list. Whoever wrote that solution clearly did not think it through.
Calling support is no better. The automated voice cuts out every two or three words, making it nearly impossible to understand. This happens for the entire call. In the background, I even caught a message suggesting that if I wanted phone support, I would have to pay for it. So not only is your email system broken and your help resources useless, but you expect people to pay you to fix your own mess.
I stayed on the line for around eight minutes. Halfway through, the music stopped, the voice stopped cutting out, and there was nothing but silence. No one ever picked up.
On top of that, Yahoo Mail is buried in ads at the top of the page and even above the first email in the list, designed so people can easily click them by accident. Compared to Gmail and other services, Yahoo feels at least a decade behind, if not more.
Because of all this, I have blocked everything related to Yahoo, removed it from my accounts, and set my browser to block anything from you in the future. My kids, my extended family, and I will never use Yahoo again.
Yahoo is outdated, unreliable, and not worth anyone’s time. I switched everything to Gmail, received the verification emails, and what I messed with for about two to three hours on Yahoo was done in a minute or less on Gmail. I did not have to pay anyone. I did not have to read through support to find out that it was useless. I simply used an email that was worth it.
Trash.
