Don't make changes without the consent of the users! Judging from the comments of a lot of irate people, you missed the mark!
At the very least, return the feature of contacts coming up automatically when typing in the recipient list for emails. Also make it easier to attach documents or photos! The new format is not an improvement. It is cumbersome and aggravating.
