Where is basic mail?

Information says I can switch to basic mail. Following instructions (settings>more settings) what i find is "switch to classic mail. When you click this it immediately tells you you must upgrade now????

    How can I get basic mail. It just switched and I didn't do anything different and now I am stuck . There has to be a way.

    Seriously, I just made a similar post. Then I went to All ideas and every single one so far is about changing the view back to classic!

    Basic mail was much easier to read and use Go back to what people are asking for. Quick, simple and easy

    You people suck. Had Yahoo for twenty years, too many bad changes. As soon as I have time to reroute my incoming you all can go to ****.
