This new mail user interface and layout is so unituitive.
***You moved the flag (star) button to a non-intuitive place to the left of the email instead of the right (in preview mode). It was fine where it was. I know it's in the preview of the email, but I don't look for it there. I dont' look for the print icon there, either. Put it on top where it was.
*** the buttons at the top seem to be missing something. Well, for one, the icons are missing WORDS like you had below. I like the "Move to SPAM" or "SPAM" words it had before. Now it's a shield (privacy?) with an X. Not intuitive. You have lots of space on the top bar, but you have a ... for additional comments. Just list them. You also buried print there, which is annoying.
***Settings don't have enough options. HOw many lines do I want to preview?
***The ads at the very top take away viewing space for my emails.
***preview, I don't need it sorted by today, yesterday, etc. I can see the date on the righ tof the message even in the list. Again, it takes up space.
***Why did you move contacts, callender, etc to the far right. I don't look for them there. Put them top left or on the toolbar. It's just above the ads, which makes it very easy to accidentally click on an ad. You don't put stuff in the UI on the top right. The eye goes Left to Right Top to bottom. I'll even take it wher eyou had it below the folders bottom left. But top would be best.
***Look at where Outlook has all the options. At the top, with icons AND words.
***Look where most email programs have the SEND button. At the top, or top left next to the To and Subject. More intuitive and easy to find.
***I have no idea what Notepad is for or why it's there.
***font size/type should hae more options.
***why is there a trash can (delete) next to Saved on the bottom right of a message I'm composing? Saved should be right on the top. No one will look on the bottom right unless it's by accident. What am I deleting anyway? This email? The sentence? Why not have a "cancel" button?
***Send should be top right like most programs, not having to look to the bottom of your email to find it.
***when composing an email, why are all the formatting options at the bottom. Put them on the top bar. Why have ..., just show me the options for centering, bullets, indent. UI elements are more intuitive ON THE TOP for users.
I'd say this new email is a bust. How do I go back to Classic mail and get you to stop trying to get me to convert? Do some usability testing, take in user feedback. Just because your mail is free, doesn't mean it has to be ******. Gmail isn't.
