Improving Login Procedures
I have had issues signing into my original account because my phone number changed. That is the only difference between the "me" that I was when I had access to my old account and the "me" that I am now. I've had no choice but to create this "new" account. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but it is because as a result of not having access to that old account, I have lost many important documents that I trusted Yahoo! to keep safe for me over the years. Not only that, but the confidential information I was asked to provide when I created that original account is now just sitting idly waiting for any experienced hacker to gain access to it. I have tried to send a copy of my driver's license to verify my identity and was told the system repeatedly rejected not only the pictures of my license but my new phone number as well. I even suggested maybe communicating by video call to verify my identity and was told that such a thing was impossible. I genuinely regret not switching those important documents of mine to a more user-friendly platform and deactivating my Yahoo! account as soon as feasibly possible. And I sincerely hope that sites like this are shut down so other people do not have to go through the awful experience of having their personal information at risk of exposure and/or losing access to important materials due to a common and unavoidable occurrence such as a change of phone number.
