To be clear, I would like to see the Lists themselves automatically in alphabetical order in the dropdown menu of Lists so that I can name/rename them to be in the order that I want and always have them in their active alpha order.

GOOD!!! This is basic, but hasn't been available for years. It's enraging. I'm glad someone else thinks so!
