To change the sending name in Yahoo Mail, please follow these instructions:

Please note: Some third-party apps have their own sending name setting, which bypasses the Yahoo Mail setting. If the app you're using attaches a different name than the one saved in your Yahoo Mail settings, contact the manufacturer of the app for assistance.

    Is this bug ever going to be fixed? I have updated my firstname, surname and preferred name, but my outgoing emails display the old name.

    I cannot change it either, even though I have changed it before. It is annoying and embarrassing! It shows my correct legal name on my end, just not when I send emails.

    I have same problem with this changing name. Im trying change it years but nothing not helpful. So one thing what will help will be leaving Yahoo which not able fix own problem. What else with it? I do not see interest from Yahoo ... So Yahoo wake up and work on your broken issues. Bye

    Hello , I have the same problem and tried the link listed . It does not work , however I am using a older windows 7 computer ....there ICON shows but when I click .....More Setting , nothing happens that I can choose ....Mailboxes or anything else to correct my name...

    I dont know how my name got changed , any help would be great

    how long after i change it and save it does it take to really go into effect.. right away or a day or 2.. after I changed it under the account tab this time and the personal info, I sent a test from yahoo mail to my daughter account and still says Dad name..

    I am also suffering for this same reason. I have changed my name and it does not reflect on the outgoing emails. It's quite frustrating and it isn't professional. Please fix this HUGE issue.

    I was just looking to provide feedback on this and found this post. So annoying- when i go into my account, it has my name correct, but when i email it has an old name.

    I am having the same issue, where Ive updated my name in the Account Settings, but it does not reflect on the email name stamp when people receive emails from me. It is very confusing to those recipients who are official and important, where my identity needs to match my email address!!! I really wish they would correct this!

    Please fix whatever is wrong. I've been dealing with this for years as have many people. We update our name under the account info section but the outgoing emails still reflect our old last names. I do not want to just create a new account as I have all my important information going to this email and junk to other emails so I don't need another. Please fix.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
    There is no option to change your name how it looks for the receiver of hte email.

    please change my name as it ought to be. When sending a professional mail it looks fraudulent.
