Yahoo locked me out of my email and charged me to get back in!!
Due to Yahoo locking me out of my email account, they wouldn't help me until I paid for the subscription to Yahoo Premium Service. then it was miraculously fixed in about 2 minutes. i was unfairly coerced into paying to get into my email account when I never signed out of it!!
The first time it asked me to change my password (which I did), to get back in. this worked. then within 24 hours, it locked me out again!!!
Now it wouldn't allow me to change it again. I was later told it was because I did NOT have the 2nd step verification set up. 1st step was my phone#. The 2nd step which was already set up, was my email!!! WHICH I COULDN'T GET INTO!!! How friggin' stupid is that?!
The customer service manager told me that i had to accept paying for a Premium Yahoo subscription in order for them to help me get back in. So I was charged $8.99 to regain access to MY email account that I NEVER SIGNED OUT OF!!!
And then YAHOO LOCKED ME OUT!!! Then made me pay to get back in.
I explained this repeatedly and was told repeatedly that I had to pay to get back in!! I was told because I did not have a 2nd step validation they couldn't help me. But I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING to sign out in the 1st or 2nd time!!! And it didn't ask me for the "2nd step" BS the first time. When it ALLOWED ME TO CHANGE MY PASSWORD SUCCESSFULLY!! I believe this was set up to unfairly charge people who didn't set up their 2nd step as THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO FIX THIS ERROR!!!
I DID NOT EVER SIGN OUT.
The password I reset did not work, so Yahoo locked me out to charge me to get back in.
This is extortion. If I didn't need this for work, I would said no.
Unfair.
Unacceptable.
And a pathetic excuse to railroad people into purchasing paid services.
I strongly urge you to refund my personal account the $8.99 I was made to pay to resolve an issue I DID NOT CREATE.
