We have also experienced on-going problems with getting files to function as they have functioned in the past - We have a small prayer group, and SINCE 2001 - our group has shared new Daily Devotions every month! In times past, we were able to "edit" the times when we wanted our Daily Devotions files to be shared with members. For example, during September and October, we would like to share the September and October files with members every two weeks, plus once a month. HOWEVER, once September and October had passed - in times past, we were able to EDIT the schedule for releasing the files and move on to November and December. We would no longer need to share the September and October Daily Devotions every two weeks during November and December. Instead, we would need to share the Daily Devotions for November and December twice a week and once a month during November and December. When January arrives, we would no longer need to be sharing the September, October, November and December Daily Devotions every two weeks, but would need to be sharing the January and February Daily Devotions every two weeks plus once a month. At this point, it appears that owners and moderators have been robbed of the ability to decide when certain files should be shared with members of the group! IF it WAS possible for owners and moderators to edit the schedule for sharing files with group members from 2001 through 2014 - but it is suddenly NO LONGER possible for owners and moderators to edit their OWN schedules for sharing files with group members - how could any of us POSSIBLY be expected to regard the current messy state of affairs as any kind of "improvement?" It appears to us that Yahoo just no longer wants to be bothered with Yahoo Groups - and is doing everything possible to discourage owners, moderators AND group members from participating in groups via Yahoo Groups!

We have experienced the same problem with ALL of our groups. Sometimes deleted files are deleted - sometimes not. We have experienced this for quite some time. Some older files which we wanted to be deleted HAVE been deleted - while others can NOT be deleted. We have NO idea why it is possible to delete SOME files - but not others. As a general rule, we also can NOT edit any of the files. The file which we want to edit must be deleted and a new file substituted in its place - PLUS - We have a small prayer group, and SINCE 2001 - our group has shared new Daily Devotions every month! Our group photo - which we had used for many years - was "improved" by Yahoo - by focusing on the feet of everyone in the photo. IF it was possible for us to use the same or a similar photo from 2001 until 2013 - and then the ONLY way the photo could be displayed was by focusing on the feet of everyone in the photo - how could any thinking person regard this as any type of "improvement?" - We have a small prayer group, and SINCE 2001 - our group has shared new Daily Devotions every month! I totally agree! It is NOT possible for each member to choose for himself how he wants his files to be displayed. Each member should be able to choose for himself what his preference is - and he should only need to make that choice ONCE. If the group members wants his files to ALWAYS be displayed in alphabetical order - he should NOT need to choose that EVERY time he looks through the files. Each member should be allowed to make his own default choice just once - and to have that default choice remain constant until the member himself makes the change - We have a small prayer group, and SINCE 2001 - our group has shared new Daily Devotions every month! Owners and moderators of Yahoo Groups have been robbed of the ability to actually manage their groups. From 2001 until 2013 - we were able to moderate our groups. Our owners and moderators have NOT been able to moderate our groups since this latest mess was visited upon us - We have a small prayer group, and SINCE 2001 - our group has shared new Daily Devotions every month! Also - many of our group members choose to have each individual post delivered to their in boxes as soon as the message is posted. It WOULD be nice if the "contact us" information really DID have information on ways that Group members really COULD contact Yahoo. At this point, though, I believe that the LAST people Yahoo wants to have contacting them are members of the public. MANY people believe that Yahoo geniuses were behind the government's health care debacle. I am beginning to believe that they are correct - We have a small prayer group, and SINCE 2001 - our group has shared new Daily Devotions every month! I totally agree - Every year, we update our files to deleting the previous files for that month and adding a new file for this year - mainly because it is no longer possible to edit longer files. Back in 2001 - when our groups first joined Yahoo Groups - it WAS possible to edit any information in the file. This year, when we began updating our files, we discovered that the name on the file which we used LAST year is no longer acceptable - because now LAST year's file name is supposedly "too long." A file name which has been of acceptable length from 2001 until 2014 - but has suddenly become "too long" in 2014 - does not seem to me to be the sort of "improvement" which actually "improves" anything. Change which is merely for the sake of change is NOT an improvement - by any stretch of the imagination - We have a small prayer group, and SINCE 2001 - our group has shared new Daily Devotions every month! In times past, we were able to "edit" the times when we wanted our Daily Devotions files to be shared with members. I agree - I am a senior citizen dealing with vision impairments. I do NOT have a phone which sends and/or receives text messages because I can NOT read all of that tiny print! I would not mind being asked ONCE to hand my mobile number over to Yahoo so that Yahoo can send text messages to a phone which does NOT accept text messages - but I would like to be able to say "no thanks" ONCE and NOT be asked for that same information EVERY time I sign in - Yahoo Groups needs to restore the former readability features to make it easy again for senior citizens with disabilities, including vision impairment - to use groups again. I am a senior citizen with vision impairment. I have been the moderator for many of our groups for many years. Previously, I had no problem being able to function as a moderator because I could easily read all of the commands for rejecting or accepting messages (all of our boards are moderated). However, with the supposed recent "improvements" - i have found it almost impossible to be able to read enough of the directions to decide whether or not I should accept or delete a message. I can see a blue check, which I presume means to accept and a red cross which I presume means to reject the message - then there are some dots - and I have NO idea what the dots mean. Moving the cursor over the symbols produces some some of writing - which I presume must be an explanation of what the little symbols really mean - but the writing is too tiny and too obscure for me to be able to actually read what the explanation is for the symbols. I cannot highlight anything to use my Mac Book Pro SPEECH feature, available under the Edit Button - and the explanation for the little symbols does NOT respond to the READER feature on the Mac Book Pro. In fact, in order to come to the customer care section, I run in to a page with TINY light blue writing on a write background. The pale writing might as well be white. Have you ever tried to read white on white or black on black? The "tip" is to appoint someone else to share the moderator duties. However ALL of the members of ALL of the groups which I belong to on Yahoo are senior citizens, dealing with various disabilities - including vision impairment. In addition, they are NOT tech savvy. The supposed "new" so-called "improvements" COULD be a dream come true for someone who is tech-savvy. But members of the groups which I belong to are NOT tech savvy. We are senior citizens and are dealing with a variety to disabilities, including vision impairment. Asking another member of one of our groups to take over the moderator duties would NOT change anything - because the only candidates for the job would ALSO be senior citizens, dealing with various disabilities, who are likewise NOT tech savvy. Yahoo needs to assign someone to read through the Americans with Disabilities Act and pay attention to some of the suggestions which have been made to make computers accessible to senior citizens who are NOT tech savvy and who are dealing with a variety of disabilities. It just seems to me that a primary goal for forward looking executives would be to make sure that your product is EASY to use for the greatest number of potential customers, clients, advertisers and consumers. Making your product so difficult to access that people just give up because it has become so difficult and so time-consuming seems to me to be the type of upper level management decision which would eventually spell disaster - because you are severely limiting the number of people who would want to even try to use your product.
