I thought subliminal advertising was illegal any body noticed how an advert will flash full size then shrink to a pop up. As many people say it is counter productive I avoid the companies on principle. UNICEF girl as sad as it is is really annoying a past sell by date.

Yahoo presently resembles ebay, not a news page, totally unacceptable, this is not advertising, it is persecution and I would not entertain anything on offer, you may be gaining revenue, but the advertisers are losing custom, I will go out of my way to avoid purchasing/visiting anything on offer, I don't want to be bombarded!

This bottom page banner that has just appeared on yahoo is VERY IRRITATING and I agree with Paul, it is counter-productive and the end user should be able to disable these advertisements if they wish. On my mail page there is also a right-hand side advert, usually UNICEF political junk and this is also VERY IRRITATING and Yahoo needs to realise that we should be able to disable that as well. Forcing adverts down our throats is not the answer.

I totally agree.
Yahoo please let your advertisers know I will not buy their products if they use overly intrusive techniques such as taking over the page I am trying to read and/or playing speech, music or any other sounds over my speakers.
Forcing advertising on us is a step too far and is counterproductive.
