There needs to be some controls around thumbs up/down.
Too often a user will get annoyed or upset about a comment, and simply go through the commenters entire history adding thumbs down to every post without even reading. This defeats the purpose.
At the very least, there should be a 15 to 30 second delay between subsequent thumbs up/down to discourage this and make the ratings more reflective of the content.

Please have accurate, relevant, descriptive captions.
The editing quality is poor, as for example, a lot of photo captions seem to be in one of three categories and not have the correct, relevant information. Those categories are
1) giving credit to the source (and there's nothing else in the caption);
2) some short description of the story;

Why are comments disappearing whenever I upvote the first reply to a comment? This is annoying and I am relieved to learn that other yahoo users are experiencing the same issue and that it is not just me.
First, I click on "View Reactions". Reading and voting on comments are never a problem. It's when I click on "Replies" that the trouble begins. The article at this link has been lifted from a CBC article, but the writers(?)/copy and pasters (?)/ plagiarizers (?) couldn't even get the ******* captions right. Why is there such few actual NEWS articles, not just this dribble of non important and totally made up stories. Written by reporters of no accredited standing or obvious knowledge of what they are taking about. I just further establishes just how foolish Yahoo is by supporting these total time wasters. Embedding adverts in your news headlines is unethical.
They're nearly identical looking and obviously designed to mislead and misrepresent. It's disgusting and I would hope that Yahoo raises their standards.

Put the Comments Button Back
Put the Comments button Back on the user page so interesting articles can still be monitored for ongoing comments and thumbs up. I miss it, the comments are as interesting as the news.
