1. Difficult to digest the high volume of intermixed world/local news

   I like the look of the update but the 'news' section is way too vast - can you subdivide it into World, US, Canada, provincial (local). Sometimes I am really only interested in what's happening domestically, for example.

   If you have to get people to work over-time to get rid of the homepage -do it.
   If you have to take some of you computers and send them to a foundry to be melted to get rid of the new homepage - do it.

12. You folks are detestable. You give people no way of contacting you when you’ve let others hack their accounts. Do you call this responsible

    Actually have some form of user support, rather than letting people vent to the vapournet. So the simple improvement? Give users a contact who can then at least say “*********” and then we will know what you’re really like, corporate responsibility-wise.

    With all due respect, Its frankly stupid to offer a contact and/or help page to users, or prospective users, while providing no means of accessing these without first logging in. I need help setting up a new - New - account-- meaning without an old one to sign in with. Even leaving this feedback (hopefully as a means to getting some info) was impossible without logging in. That said, I can't set up a new account without a mobile number. I don't use a cell phone. Simply don't need one for communications purposes, and for me personally, they're woefully inadequate for any other purpose.
    If there's another way to set up a new yahoo account without providing a mobile number, I'd very much appreciate some guidance.

    I know this probably isn't the right place for this, but I can't seem to access any help or contact pages without being signed in. To the point, I'm trying to set up a new account (as petegpapadakos@yahoo.com preferably), but the system insists I enter a mobile number ("required field," or words to that effect). The problem: I don't have a mobile number, and don't foresee getting one anytime soon. I have no need nor use for one. I've set up accounts on yahoo in the past, for friends and self, and the lack of a mobile number wasn't an issue.

    I've had a yahoo email account since I was in high school. Instead of a nice, professional one based on my name like everybody else has, I've dealt with having this long, rambling one nobody understands because I didn't want to change. I even weathered the storm of having it copied by a third party and the copy sending spam emails to everybody (though deleting it at that point would have done nothing. It was already copied.) Everything is linked to it. Including my bank account.

    I just got a notification that Yahoo, having been bought out by the ridiculously-named "Oath" and merged with its other companies, is going to start taking the content contained in my emails, sharing it and using it to map trends and preferences and give me a better internet experience. So far, there's no way to opt out. My choices are "I accept" or "I'll do this later". Even if there's an option to reset my preferences once I'm in, in the few minutes before I do that, I'm sure everything that's currently in there will be fair game to them. It's bad enough that my email provider has been harassing me for my phone number for the last couple of years. YOU DON'T NEED THAT.

    Maybe I'm being naive thinking that things like my bank statement are still private. If the hackers were able to copy my email and my friends list, who knows what they saw. I don't know how this works. I'm basically this generation's equivalent of computer illiterate. Maybe Yahoo's been watching my finances go up and down all along, and I've been at the mercy of the kindness of strangers and the fact that I have hardly any money.

    I've always been one of those people who has said, "If you don't want people getting your information on the internet, don't share your information on the internet. Duh." But some things are unavoidable and some things are sacred.
