RE: Pitch location tracker on MLB game pages- Is it from the pitchers perspective or the catcher/batter perspective?
- Pitch tracker orientation- who's perspective are we seeing that from pitcher or catchers?
Pitch tracker- batter's handedness needs to be displayed next to the player name
Add a batter sillouette or a home plate to the strikezone graphic of the pitch location tracker.
I appreciate the pitch tracker to see indiviual pitch location during at-bats. However, without a reference point indicating which direction we're viewing the strikezone we cannot understand the pitch location- eg is the pitch outside or inside on a righthanded batter?
The preference is to show a batter sihoulette and a homeplate because it shows both the correct perspective but also the handedness of the batter.
The simplest fix is to inlclude a homeplate because the viewer can immediately orient themselves and the homeplate can be a stationary(unchanging) part of the graphic template.
- Also in the pitch tracker interface, Yahoo needs to display the handedness of the batter (batter is a LHB-Lefty or RHB-Righty). Currently the pitch tracker shows the handedness of the pitcher but not the batter. If Yahoo decides to put a batter silhouette on the pitch tracker strikezone this will solve that problem. but again the simplest fix is to place a homeplate as part of the stationary strikezone graphic and then indicate the batter's handedness next to his name just like the pitcher's handedness is already displayed
Thank you for your feedback! The pitch tracker is from the catcher's perspective. Your thoughts and suggestions are extremely valuable to us which is why we've passed your comments along to our team.
