  1. A finance tracker where I can't see a list of symbols with their daily change. Time to move on.

There is not much to describe. I expect a finance tracker to let me create a table with a list of tickers and see with just a glance their price and price change for the day without the need to tell you my business about how many shares I own of what if any.

There used to be one: it was called yahoo finance. Don't make me go back to Google finance please...

  5. Portfolio 2.0

I just converted to Portfolio 2.0. I extensively used to notes field in the old portfolio format to indicate sales or buys. I have now lost all that historical information of buy and sale points. This was in the My Holdings format. I will see what other information was lost or changed as I continue to use My Holdings. If that information is not offered and retrieved, Yahoo finance may become unusable.

  6. The Export link address?

Yahoo as of 2024 in the original portfolio of the last 20 years removed the “cryptic user id” info that use to be part of the “Export” link address to download the portfolio data. Data .csv download can now only be done by clicking the Export link directly on the Yahoo portfolio webpage.

Before a desktop shortcut for each portfolio could work for downloading the portfolio.csv files. Now it must be stored only in a cookie, can you put it back as it was for 20 years? Or where can the “cryptic user id” for each of the different portfolios…

  7. portfolio 2

Don't mandate a trade date. I only need daily gain/loss. And what happened to Risk Profile, Valuation, and Diversity?

  8. Portfolio 2.0 is horrible.

Portfolio 2 is horrible. I can't change transactions, I have to post a new transaction and delete the old one. The value of my bond holdings and money market holdings change nearly daily. I've used Yahoo Finance for around 10 years. I liked it, but the new version is too awkward.

  9. Why did you change quotes.csv to portfolio.csv?

Yahoo changed quotes.csv to portfolio.csv and removed user ID from the data Export link so it no longer downloads properly or just an empty csv file, unless a direct click on the webpage link.

  10. Portfolio 2.0 is cluttered and cumbersome

Portfolio 2.0 is cluttered and cumbersome. This is a free site, so keep it simple. If anybody wants more features, give them as OPTIONS or Premium. The status column is either unnecessary or clutters the view. I find total Dividend Income and Total Return columns to be inaccurate, distracting and worthless. Go back to the prior Portfolio system and fire somebody for doing this travesty.

  12. Regarding your Portfolio 2 - I'm retired, I demand my Yahoo finance, as IT IS, and use it, because it is Simple. So KEEP IT AS IS.

I've used Yahoo Finance for years. I'm retired. I NEED YOUR CURRENT FORMAT to STAY AS IS. All this fancy bologny, is for Geeks. You go ahead with all these Portfolis NON-SENSE ? I'm GONE. Every time computer geeks, change something, THAT AIN"T BROKE ?? You totally ***** US ALL. As evident, by comments below. Leave it ALONE. IT WASN"T BROKE, SO DON"T GET CUTE, and think your doing your customers a Favor, and FIXING IT. I don't need charts, &age's, nor ANY of the NON)SENSE, your planning. Drop this stupid, idea. 13. Return to Portfolio 1.0, PLEASE!

I have spent several years customizing Portfolio 1.0 to meet my needs. I use codes and abbreviations to pack a wealth of info into each screen display, which makes the old Portfolio wonderful for my purposes. Portfolio 2.0 sucks. And if your programming staff can't support both portfolios simultaneously, then shame on them.

  14. Improvement needed on My Holding page layout for individual stocks in the Portfolio2.0

The previous My Holding page layout for individual stocks was better than the Portfolio2.0
It'll be great if you can make 'Share lots' tab configurable and scrollable.
i.e Allow the user to configure/select the columns in the 'Share lots' tab that he want to see.

  15. Dump Portfolio 2; free us to get back to original format

Yahoo Finance was great and easy to use in the original format. New Portfolio 2 does not work. This may be intentional but the idea will backfire. Yahoo was a wonderful companion for us investors but it is not a Must Have. If Yahoo is trying to get more revenue, this is not the way to go.

  16. Please see my comments regarding features removed on version 2 of Portfolio

Portfolio 2 took away a very useful capability. In the "My Holdings" view I used to be able to see on 1 screen, for each lot, the absolute $ value of gains and losses for both the day and the holding period, along with appropriate comments I stored with that lot. This facilitated tax effective buy/sell decisions. I now need to look at both the Share Lots sub-view and the Transaction details sub-view to get that information, and even then I have to calculate the absolute $ amounts. What used to take seconds now requires pen and pencil notes.

    I…

  17. New Yahoo!Finance

May 5, 2024. New Yahoo!Finance is unusable. The removal of the portfolio list and other critical functions is obviously the work of non-investors. In 2012 you changed much of Yahoo Finance in an attempt to make it much less functional, and now you are changing much more to make it even less desirable. Just go ahead and shut it down, rather than destroying it by a thousand cuts.

  18. BEWARE! Portfolio 2.0 just deleted all my historical data except for the last 6 entries.

Migrating to Portfolio 2.0 just deleted all my historical data except for the last 6 entries! That's the last straw. I'm done with Yahoo.
First you ruined Yahoo email years ago and I had to find new email.
Then you ruined the My Yahoo page and I had to find a new homepage.
Google left you in their dust and I switched to their search engine.
The only last remaining element of Yahoo that I was using was the Yahoo Finance Portfolio page and now you've ruined that too.
    It's a pity.
