I DID NOT REQUEST DELETION OF MY YAHOO ACCOUNT SO WHY DID I GET THE EMAIL STATING THE ABOVE THAT IT WILL DELETE WITHIN AN HOUR... I NEED HELP WITH THIS. I DO NOT WANT MY YAHOO ACCOUNT TO BE DELETED. PLEASE ADVISE AT ONCE WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS. I STILL HAVE THE EMAIL THAT I RECEIVED IF YOU NEED TO SEE IT.
These emails are totally fake. They were sent by hackers to try and get your account information. You can just delete them. If you submitted any information to them, make sure you secure your account.

Tips on how to detect fake Yahoo mails:
- they always put the ! after the word: Yahoo!
- they always have an updated logo and graphics to make the email look sleek
- they will always ask you to use links to fix stuff about your accountTips on what to do if you didn't know how to defend yourself (which is totally fine, not everyone is that experienced with tech stuff):
- change your password asap and write on OFFICIAL Yahoo forums about your experience
- try to get in touch with customer serviceStay safe everyone!

More tips on how to detect fake emails from Yahoo:
- they never spell Yahoo like this, they always add the "!" = Yahoo!
- they always have their logo instead of just the standard letter you see for contacts without a display picture
- they always use different graphics to make it look sleek and neatStay safe people!

Coming with an update, I tracked the sender's IP [106.10.244.181], it literally is a scam from Singapore, the city of Geylang. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER YOUR EMAIL IN THE ATTACHMENT IF YOU RECEIVED SUCH AN EMAIL!!!!
I wish we could report addresses to Yahoo like you can report accounts on social media! -

So I received an email from an account whose display name is "Yahoo warning" (yes, lowercase w), from an address "renzgina@yahoo.com" which stipulates that my account "couldn't upgrade to version 7.1 and this results into permanent closure". It's asking me to open an attachment and log in with my email there in order to upgrade. This looks really fishy to me, since a) I actually am at version 7.1, b) I'm pretty sure Yahoo does this kinda stuff automatically, c) It even sounds stupid: WE're closing your account because WE couldn't update etc., and d) the email address looks like a personal one, NOT like a Yahoo official thing.
Maybe a mod or something sees this and can assure me that my account will not be terminated, because this looks like a shameless attempt at phishing to me.
Please vote so that this can be seen and also if you have received such an email!

I have received an e-mail claiming that it's from you, sent from yahoo@mail.comms.yahoo.net (or so it appears). Looks very suspicious. It says I can claim back money for buys I never actually made.
