Settings to change name do not change email settings for such; some help pages do not tell the solution
Settings to change name do not change email settings for such; some help pages do not tell the solution.
The problem: I needed to change the name that appears in messages I send using Yahoo webmail interface.
The "obvious" solution that I tried: in the page where I see my inbox folder, I opened the account settings, changed my name, surname, and even tried the nickname (which I did not even used before!). Nothing changed. Refreshed all pages. Logged out and in again. Cleared all cookies and site data before logging in again. The unwanted name stayed there.
Contacting the support showed me solution. It is "obvious" that we can choose a different name, or write it in a different way, JUST to send emails. Obvious?? No way! This is obvious only if I was using an email manager software to use my account. And surprisingly, the solution given to me shows where this separate setting is, and even that there are help pages about them! But why did not I find them before, then?? Simple: because you do not put them in the places where we would normally need them, or would search for them.
So, all this here is to say to you: change these things! Add the information about the extra setting in the place where I changed the data that COULD solve the problem, but it has no effect at all! As I described, I tried to find uncommon causes for the problem. Improve this, please.

How are you trying to change your name? What is your step by step so we can understand better? If you go to your Desktop Settings > More Settings > Writing Emails. There is where you can change your account name. Hope this helps!
