Deleted all emails

Deleting emails of “inactive” users after just 12 months is an abuse of public trust — especially when no notice is provided to even the back-up email on file. If these are truly unable to be recovered (and you’ve erased our entire histories) you can kiss your customers GOODBYE!

Yahoo Mail accounts are only deleted for inactivity if they have not been accessed in the past 12 months. Please see this help page for more information:

If you are missing some mail and not all of your mail, you may try the mail restore process to recover lost messages if lost within the past 7 days. More information can be found here:

    I beg it that Yahoo restore all my past emails. Many of them are critical to me now. Besides, please alert users several days befor deletion is planned for us to archive or migrate our emails.

    Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE YAHOO! I’ve had my email address with you for YEARS & had SO MUCH important data within those emails. Surely you could’ve advised us before erasing OUR files that this was a potential risk at stake for whatever reason you have done this — not after they have already been deleted?! Please reverse this immediately; my valuable content within my email address are truly irreplaceable and sentimental. I will be seeking legal advise on this matter as well.

    I have been using my yahoo mail for more than 15 years. I have important emails in it. After over a year of inactivity, I logged on today to find out that everything is gone! All deleted! Please, can someone help me how to get them back?

    This is ridiculous. I know I’ve logged in multiple times this year but everything got deleted. Honestly this is ridiculous that every email is gone. I had pictures of my grandmother and step father who passed a few years ago sent to me through my email and now I do t have them anymore due to this inconvenience. There has to be away to recover old emails

    There was no noticeable email notification or public advertisement from Yahoo stating that they would delete all mails due to 12 months of inactivity. Had I known this , I would have logged in diligently as I too had important documents just like every body else. How can Yahoo be so irresponsible with people’s data? Please restore what you have deleted and then make people aware of your policies, so that everyone will get a fair chance to secure their data irrespective of your ridiculous policies.
