After user clears the mailbox, Ymail should allow restore of all mail services. Even after clearing thousands of emails, 0 in Trash, 0 in Spam, service is saying mailbox full. Ymail must run its logic to remove bar immediately to restore service.

Hi Yahoo Customer Support,

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding my Yahoo Mail account and the apparent loss of incoming emails following a sudden change to my storage limit.

I have been using Yahoo Mail for many years and have historically had approximately 85 GB of emails stored in my account. I have been able to maintain this storage without any previous problem or requirement to purchase additional storage.

Today, 13 August 2026, was the first time I received a notification from Yahoo advising me that my account was out of storage.

I immediately purchased the 200 GB storage plan for $7.99 per month because I wanted to ensure that my emails would continue to be received and that my existing emails would remain accessible.

However, I have now discovered that emails sent to my Yahoo address around this period have apparently not been received. I am extremely concerned that incoming emails may have been intercepted, rejected or permanently deleted by Yahoo as a result of the storage limit being imposed.

This is particularly concerning because today was the FIRST notification I received that my account was out of storage. I had no prior warning that my existing storage would suddenly become subject to a new limit or that incoming emails could be affected.

I therefore request that Yahoo urgently investigate my account and provide me with a clear written explanation of:

The exact date and time when the storage limit applicable to my account was changed.
What my storage allowance was immediately before this change.
When and how Yahoo notified me that my account would be subject to the new storage limit.
Whether emails sent to my account before I received the storage warning, and during the period immediately surrounding the change, were received by Yahoo’s mail servers.
Whether any of these emails were rejected, quarantined, intercepted, temporarily held or deleted.
Whether Yahoo can recover or restore any missing incoming emails from its servers or backup systems.
Why emails would be affected when I had only received my first storage warning on the same day and immediately purchased additional storage.
I specifically request a SERVER-SIDE INVESTIGATION of my account rather than simply being told that the emails are “permanently deleted.”

These emails may contain important personal, financial and other information, and their loss could cause significant inconvenience and potential harm.

I acted immediately upon receiving Yahoo’s notification and paid for additional storage. I therefore expect Yahoo to investigate whether the missing emails can be recovered and restored now that my account has sufficient storage.

Please also confirm whether there was a grace period associated with the storage-limit change and whether my account was already prevented from receiving emails before that grace period expired.

In summary:

I had 85 GB stored for years
Yahoo previously allowed that amount
Today, 13 August 2026, Yahoo suddenly imposed a lower limit on my account
Emails were sent to me after Yahoo changed the limit but before you paid the $7.99
I was not given reasonable notice that incoming emails would be rejected/deleted
I then immediately paid for the 200 GB storage
I have now discovered that emails sent to you around this transition period have not arrived.
I want Yahoo to investigate whether those emails were rejected, held, quarantined, or deleted.
I specifically want yahoo to check whether any missing emails can be restored.

I would appreciate this matter being escalated to the appropriate technical/support team and treated as a formal complaint.

Please provide me with a written response explaining what happened to the missing emails and what Yahoo can do to recover them.

Bad update for the mail limit

You have different storage notifications 15gb. And 20 gb kindly correct as I have alerts saying 15 gb allowed where as 20 gb is allowed

I request that the storage allocation for my Yahoo Mail account (rahulsainiaustralia@yahoo.com.au) be increased from 15 GB to at least 20 GB.

My account has been active since 2009. Despite its long-standing status, it remains subject to the older 15 GB storage limit, while many Yahoo users are provided with 20 GB of free storage.

My mailbox has reached its storage limit and contains essential legal correspondence, court documents, and official records that I am required to retain. Deletion of these records is neither practical nor appropriate.

In the interests of consistency, fairness, and equal treatment of long-standing users, I respectfully request that Yahoo apply the current minimum 20 GB free storage allocation to my account.

I would appreciate your prompt consideration and a written response confirming the outcome of this request.

You sent me an email saying that my email storage is being reduced (I’m on a free plan) AND that there are tools to check storage and manage email that is consuming it. I have searched Yahoo Mail on the web and cannot find ANY tools for storage other than a simple dialog that tells me how much I am consuming.
