Auto Refresh Inbox
When a new message comes in you put a notification on the inbox page. Why not dispense with the notification and just auto refresh the page either when something comes in or on a regular schedule such as every five minutes.

I agree. The Old Yahoo Mail just automatically updated the Tab name with "X unread emails" and a little red dot if there were new ones since the last time I was in the tab. This was incredibly useful since I could easily see if I had new emails without having to manually go to the tab.

You need to reinstate the auto refresh. I pay for Yahoo mail. It's no longer doing anything it did before this "new and improved" version which is 12 steps back from the old version. Nothing works. So you see my header question, answer it. Why, when I pay for Yahoo mail, do I have to manually refresh my email to see new emails? Did you not think any of this through before you released this "new and improved" version? Because it certainly seems like it. You need to fix a variety of things, but the auto refresh is a great start! How about NOW?

HEY!! I PAY for this email! Tell me again why I should have to manually refresh my inbox to see my new emails you're telling me I have with a note and a 'refresh' link next to that note! Because at this rate, I'm not going to be a paid user, or a free user, or an anything user. This new interface absolutely sucks and when I put my question into the main page, you won't even let me post it. What good is that? Don't want people complaining? DON'T CHANGE WHAT ISN'T BROKE!

The Yahoo mail paid account is ok. I have one email there.
The Yahoo mail free account was fine. I have another email there.
The new update to Yahoo mail free account is a great reason to find a differentr email client altogether.
The new "standard" free account is a UX disaster. There was no product manager. No AB testing etc to see how bad that client is. The ONLY saving grace was the option to switch to a "new basic" view that actually does work BUT that has 2 big defects.
1>>> there is an auto refresh that will wipe out your selections on mail items every few seconds with no option to set that refresh value
2>>> the free view now only shows the current day mail unless you manually tab 1 page at a time now.
Yes the basic view isn't bad EXCEPT for those 2 bugs
On to a different mail client since yahoo never looks outside their own team for product feedback -

New emails are not loading automatically, need to manually refresh each time
Seems there no option for creating subfolders
Only top emails shown and rest don't load
2 clicks are needed to move emails to any folder, or to take many other actions. Earlier it was just one
Most important, its so slow and everything takes so much time to load -

email used to be able to refresh/update automatically instead of having to hit refresh to see what new emails came in. used to be able to hit m to refresh, delete key to delete emails, n to compose new email. now unable to do so. also having to hit apply to move an email to another folder -- waste of step.

refresh automatically. allow shortcut keys to be used to delete email, etc.

I point blank told these children to leave my email alone. Kids always thinking they know better, rather than asking what I want before trying to force me to endure!!!!
I said NO and I meant it! -

It's your job to keep the page active, not mine! Stop telling me to "refresh" my email! It's new and improoooved and always infinity worse than ever before! Your new and improved version of the future is buggy garbage. I've put it off long enough now. Time to just switch and call it a day!

When I get a new message I have to refresh. What a joke. This up grade is a 100 steps backwards!

I also hate that I can not choose how many emails per page and can not just scroll through all of them.

Agreed with the auto refresh. I shouldn't have to go looking for new emails. They should just be in my Inbox without any interaction from me.

I had a daily routine of blocking all my spam mail senders so at least I wouldn't get more from those addresses, I can't find the option to block anywhere. Please just let us have the old UI back and never change anything again. I hate everything about the new designs, and they objectively work so much less. There were no issues with the old design, none. Why "fix" what isn't broken?

Put back the blocking option. That's how I liked to handle any fishing email I recieved, rather than just putting into my spam folder.

Remove Refresh. Also, every click makes the page go to the left side and it has to be repositioned over the email every time. PLEASE go back the what it was.

Nothing new. Why in gods name would you tell me I have a new email and not automatically refresh? You spent time to program a little icon to tell me to refresh. WHY GOD WHY?
