"Why a ‘vast majority’ of Americans are not getting the most out of Social Security." This article is insulting it presupposes that everyone has money they are sitting on and can wait to claim SSI. Most people don't have anything and if they become ill they really have no choice. There are no jobs to speak of for seniors even if you can work so people claim their SSI because they need income. Most have little to no money to fall back on these days. The truth is the majority are the working poor and now a lot of them are out of work. You will see a big uptick in folks claiming their SSI as soon as they can because they simply need it to even survive. It's appalling that a few people do so well while the vast majority are paid near starvation wages.
