Reach out to users who are at risk of losing their information
When deleting old emails due to inactivity, a courtesy outreach to the affected user when said user provides alternative contact information (phone number, alternative email addresses, etc.) should be made. Some users may not be aware of the 12 month inactivity policy, and may have important legal or personal documentation they would like to recover before their account goes inactive once they are aware of that risk.

I also just realized that my e-mail is completely empty. How can we recover the e-mails and information?

I didn't even realize this was a thing until I signed into my Yahoo account a couple a days ago only to find I had no email. I would of liked to have saved some of the items before it was all wiped but it was done without warning. Funny when I voted on this issue Yahoo sent me an email to my Gmail account but couldn't send an email before they deleted my entire inbox??
