When a player is reported by their team to miss "multiple weeks" it shouldn't be necessary to move that player from the IR position each week and drop another player to make roster additions. Every week you are required to move that player out of the IR position bc "the player no longer qualifies" only to move it back later in the week. That results in unnecessary drops of other players when managing the roster. When a player has surgery or a multi-week injury, their IR designation should remain until the team reports the player available to start in real life.
