I understand your frustration, but really, threatening Yahoo! with switching, and in all CAPS which is unacceptable, is not only pointless, but given that human beings at Yahoo! read remarks, I would rather not have Yahoo! personnel be in a bad mood because they had just read yet another "I'll leave!" comment, when I, and so many others, are really hoping that common sense and user-friendliness will prevail. I don't want to inherit their natural reaction when they are deciding whether my feedback is worth bothering about.

I think you were not using "basic." You were using "Classic." As I was.

I have to copy and past email addresses from replied email, or do an email search. My contacts have never worked properly since my original Yahoo! membership, but at least the function of typing in the first letter of a name or two would bring me that email address.

Isn't everyone's life - every "regular" person's life, anyway, hassled enough? I mean, don't Yahoo! people weary of hearing how much long-standing members long for the return of Classic Mail.

Straight question: how do you find the new Yahoo Mail Basic, "functional." Do you solely use it for short, text-like emails, because without the formatting ability of Classic, and the lack of Forwarding and Replying quality, if you are attempting legal email exchanges, there is a gross loss of function and quality documentation.

Was it three weeks ago, now, that my email was changed to Basic, and I wrote. Just as suddenly, it was changed back to Classic, and I was so grateful to have this format again. Today, it is back to Basic. Had my account not been switched to Classic, there was legislatively-related email that I could not possibly have composed, (with correct references), with the Basic format.

It is not a matter of being uncomfortable with the new Basic; it is that is reduces the quality of the emails composed. Even response email does not allow for including only the most recent reply; the entirety of exchanges must appear. The color difference also effects my ability to read and review emails, as the light, bright contrast is difficult.

With Classic, I was still receiving all Ads. That was fine. I asked, last go-round, if paying for Classic would make a difference, but doubted it would. I only use a PC, and have no other current devices. Classic email, without exaggeration, directly effects my day-to-day quality of life.

Please do not harass those who have the power to decide what Yahoo! email looks like, nor how it functions.

Search for a word in New Basic, the program sees a "d," at least in a word with the same number of letters," as a "g," hence returning wrong results.

The contacts call-up, where beginning to type a name into the "To" line, does nothing. As it seems that there are many versions of the Basic being implemented, that may not be the case for you. If I do not have an email address memorized, I must do a search-for-email in order to get it. I will be using a hardcopy address book to record important contacts - which I should have done from day one.

As you know, there is, essentially, no formatting. Even going back as far as original email, email exchanges with a recipient, appeared when you replied, and you could exclude non-pertinent exchanges by deleting them. With this new Basic, you have the option of showing the previous email exchanges, but they cannot be edited. If there are concerns that public domain exchanges will be edited, then let there be software for those users that blocks editing. Otherwise, there is no need to show, for example, 20 email exchanges in a Reply.

With "Send" now at the top of the page, along with other full-use features being dissolved, the sense is that the Yahoo! perception is that "everyone" is sending only text messages or using some other email service if they need to write more than a few lines.

With Replies, the arrows appear with each line. That, along with "Me," as sender, and I frequently copy myself on correspondence sent to communicate with government, is infantilizing,

Now, rather than taking direct Action, individuals must "Apply" the action. Why?

I am not one of those users who "threatens" to switch to another email service. I want Yahoo! to step up to the plate. However, if this feedback page is any indication, it appears that few users either complain or care, but I doubt that is valid.

Why, now, as I attempt to post this comment, and, when I was linked here directly by my Yahoo! email, am I asked to Sign in With Yahoo - and there is that red box saying, "Please sign in with a provider to continue." But Yahoo! where I have already signed in, IS my sole provider.
