The Yahoo robots don't care. They just email the response, "Sorry for the inconvenience."

Yahoo has really screwed this up! They have deleted all Contact records for which no email address was stored (e.g, my doctors in which I had phone numbers, dates, account information and other stuff but no email). They have also resurrected old Contacts that I deleted long ago. They are adding some weird Contacts in which the Delete command is not accessible, forcing them on me. This is the worst pile of **** that has come out of Yahoo.

Yahoo Support just says "Sorry for the inconvenience." They are robots. All they can do is send pre-formatted emails. Thoughtless, useless robots.

You can export Contacts to CSV for import into another program however if you had any Yahoo Contacts in which you didn't store and email address, Yahoo has deleted them. e.g., my doctors each had a Contact record so that I had their phone numbers, address, names of people in the office and a lot of personal details. All gone.

There are many other problems but Yahoo Support's response is, "Sorry for the inconvenience." Idiot robots.

Now I'm also seeing that Yahoo resurrected very old Contacts deleted. So, they delete my important current Contacts and restore old unneeded ones. Real smart.

In addition, they've added some sort of Contacts that they probably dug out of very old emails and they cannot be deleted (the three dots ... that are usually there with the Delete command are not visible in this Contacts. So they are forcing Contacts on me that I don't want.

This level of control is disgusting.

I have been round and round with Yahoo Support on this. They are robots. All they can say is "We are sorry for the inconvenience." From my own research I assume that when Yahoo finally integrated Contacts with the Mail system again (for me that was earlier this week that it happened) they deleted all of our Contacts that didn't have an email address. They offer NO SOLUTION for this. The idiots kept telling me that I should have backed up (exported) my Contacts to a CSV file. I have exported my Contacts but I still had many new notes in my records that were not exported at that time.

This is really a huge deal but apparently Yahoo has no sense of responsibility for what they've done. They don't mind spying on us, reading our messages with algorithms that steal our information and shove marketing garbage in our face, trying to push us to make Yahoo our homepage, and so much more, but they also have no problem deleted using data and then sending their robots to respond with pre-formatted emails that have NOTHING to do with the issue. I'm truly livid about this because like Kristine said in her post here, and others have said elsewhere, I stored a lot of very important information in Contacts without email addresses. All but one of my doctors are gone now along with all of the historic notes I made in those records. Businesses I work with that I never email but had their phone numbers, my account numbers, and much more - all gone.

It looks to me like Yahoo deleted all of my Contacts that didn't have an email address in them!! Seriously?? Now an email address is required to save a new Contact? WHY????

I had contacts for my doctors and other medical facilities and lots of other stuff where I stored important notes and encoded login information but NO EMAIL cause I don't email my doctors or hospitals. Why did you delete them?? How am I supposed to get that information now????

I agree. I pay for ad-free Yahoo mail and I don't appreciate them adding this **** to my email messages. Yahoo is becoming more and more invasive and after many, many years with this account, I've about had it. Remove this **** from my messages!

Why did you remove the contextual menu that used to come up when we right-click a message? Virtually every program (not just email) supports right-clicking a file/folder or other object to access a contextual menu of commands. In the case of Yahoo Mail, the ability to quickly and easily Mark as Read/Unread, or Delete or Move via the right click was handy and necessary and yet you have removed it. I really wonder what goes through your minds sometimes. You have removed a number of useful features over the years and to this day, I still wonder why, still miss them. Now here's another one :(

I agree. This is so frustrating. It was far more efficient to be able to right click to get to these functions.

And ya, what happened to the auto-spellcheck (underline mispelled words)?

Why isn't this fixed yet?????? This is a BUG!!!!!! A bad bug! The latest version of Yahoo Mail has the wrong Sort options when viewing the Sent mail folder. The #1 Sort I use in that folder is by Recipient yet that is no longer available. I actually have to go to Contacts first, because that opens the OLD version of Yahoo Mail (when will you fix that too?) and then access the Inbox through the OLD mail and then the Sent mail folder and THEN I can sort by RECIPIENT. This is ludicrous.

    Hi there,

Our engineers are working on incorporating Contacts into the new format. We appreciate your patience while we work on this.

In the meantime, you can access contacts by clicking on the icon on the upper right side (small icon made up of a rectangle with three small stacked squares). This will open Contacts in a new tab of your browser in the Classic Mail look. You can also access your contacts via https://contacts.yahoo.com.

    Thank you!
    Mail Support

William - that pop-up is coming from the Views on the left side. I keep Views collapsed but they won't allow us to permanently collapse it so everytime we go into Yahoo the Views expand again and now they've added Purchases to Views, and with that this very invasive pop-up about having overpaid for something at xx store (and they name the store we shopped at). This is a huge invastion of privacy.

If you collapse the Views on the left side (above all of your folders, but down below the Inbox, Sent, etc., that pop-up shouldn't come up but every time you close Yahoo and then go back in, Views expands again (cause they're trying to shove it down our throats) so you'll have to remember to collapse Views every time you first go into Yahoo Mail.

I'm with you on this. This is a disgusting, obvious invasion of privacy. I too have Yahoo Mail Pro and now they think they can dig into my email to see what I'm buying and try to point me to some other store? I HATE the Views feature to begin with and they won't give us an option to permanently close Views, and now they've added Purchases to the Views and every time I open Yahoo, the Views expand again and I get the message about overpaying. They even name the online store! I knew already that Yahoo snooped through messages in order to market to us and as much as I don't like it, this is above and beyond! Get the **** out of my private mail!
