How in the world can you still be gathering feedback? The results in this thread are more overwhelming than a Russian election run by Putin! Simply make the decision to bring back the old format. How hard can it be?
This looks very much like analysis to paralysis.

When will someone from Yahoo answer these comments? What good is it to have a feedback form when: 1) There is never a response? 2) Even the simple suggestion of adding an option for keeping the "Classic" page is never addressed publicly or even tacitly honored by making a change? Does it not occur to you that potential advertisers, potential investors and fund managers may read these comments that go into a "Black Hole" and make judgments about the quality of Yahoo management and its decision making? Please do yourself and many of your users a favor and find a way for disgruntled users to get back the "classic" look. You can make many of your problems go away very simply.

I had a dream about an evil idea for getting customers upset. 1. Make a major change in a product. 2. Solicit feedback. 3. Tell the customers that you are "gathering feedback." 4. Do nothing. Then I woke up and found that Yahoo! had already taken my idea. That's OK. I don't like nightmares anyway.
