Anonymous, there are quite a few different home pages to include; uStart, Protopage, MSN, Google, and i am sure there are others. I went to Protopage, and set it up a lot like my old yahoo page, which I really like. Plus I was able to put AccuWeather on the homepage, and it uses where I live not my ISP for my address. All my news is what I selected and it never changes, and my columns are the way I want. I also changed email and went to Google. And although they have a newer version of their email, they give you the choice of staying with the older version if you want or going with the newer one, unlike where my old email address was, which gave you no choice at all. I am sure there are a lot of other homepages, but these are a few of the ones I checked out. Good luck!!!
We appreciate the feedback we’ve receive thus far with regards to the new My Yahoo layout and features.
We’re continually developing new product concepts to bring great experiences to our users. We’d love to hear more feedback about the design changes you’re seeing. Feel free to continue posting here with any additional feedback.
You all need to go read this, it is so spot on:
But they so appreciate our comments and love our feedback lol, NOT!!!
I have never seen a company that received this much feedback with all the threads that our ongoing, and they completely disregard them, they don't look at them or even acknowledge them. To me this is a company that really does not care about their users or what they want. I trully do not know what they want, but I know what they won't have soon, and that is the faithful backing of the millions of users who have lost their homepages, with all the important information on it that was used daily, to include the weather; stock portfolio; news and the infinite amount of items that different users used on a daily basis. I left Yahoo last month, and have a new homepage and search engine, and I actually only come back now to see if anything has changed which it hasn't. It's time to move on people, because Yahoo left us in the dust a long time ago.
There is a petition that has been started, asking Yahoo to give us our Hompages back. I am pasting the website here for all to sign. If you want to try to get your Yahoo Homepage back, please sign the petition: http://www.change.org/petitions/yahoo-give-my-yahoo-users-the-option-of-using-either-the-old-or-the-new-formats-instead-of-only-offering-the-new-format
Interesting, Yahoo has been gathering feedback since January 2014, and over 1070 comments, and they still don't know what Yahoo Users want. If this doesn't tell everyone what Yahoo thinks about them nothing will.
To Bosco: There are plenty of sites out there a couple are uStart; Protopage; MSN; Google. Some people are using uStart and say its actually pretty good. I went with Protopage, which I got to look a lot like my Classic Yahoo. I am sure there are others, but there are a few.
Unfortunately, Yahoo is never going to change back. They are not listening to any of us at all. Has you can see from their lovely comment above. So the only way to get them to listen is to leave. If you complain and stay, then what you get is what you get. I will not settle, and have left totally, except to check back on the complaint pages, to see if they have responded to anyone, which they haven't.
Went online to see if any news service was picking up on the disaster going on with Yahoo!! Check out what I found out: This is a small portion of what is on web page:
** What really lies beneath the brand new NEO interface Yahoo claims is so wonderful? Want the truth? Below that shiny appearance is disaster.
Classic lies in ruins with its archives in shambles, the photos scrambled, and the NEO code they tried to replace it with so full of bugs we would need to hire a fleet of exterminators to remove them all.
And here’s the BEST part….it was created and released with all those bugs! Yessirree, Yahoo decided that maybe it would be a great idea to foist this new, non-beta-tested, buggy interface on a random selection of Classic Group Users…with no warning!
That was back in August of 2013. August 4th is the earliest date anyone has provided me for the Neo flip. And as usual, people took to the Yahoo Uservoice forum to comment.
One particular comment, we fondly call the “Top Topic” in Groups, was created on August 7, 2013. It had been the longest running topic we had going down there and the most voted on one.
Return Groups format to prior format that WORKS!
Below is a screen capture of the beginning phrases of that topic. Note the vote count box to the left. (This capture is from a user with a different computer and browser, so the fonts won’t exactly match the next image.)**
Couldn't get it all check out the website for more. But isn't it nice to know we were used as guinea pigs??????????????????????????????????
LOL, LOL, LOL!!! You have to love the Admin comment above. Seriously!!! They think we like this page now? Do they honestly not understand that we hate this format. Do they not realize how many people are leaving because they will not bring the old format back??? It's like they are talking to children. Pat us on the head and say there, there, it will be ok, and we are supposed to smile and say ok!!! Unfortunately that is not going to happen. Yahoo is not bringing the old format back I finally get it. The UK sill has the old format, but as of 31 March, it will be gone, much like I am already. Went to Protopage and made a new homepage, which looks a lot like the Classic Yahoo, before they destroyed it. Changed my search engine to Google and left Yahoo behind in the dust. So the only thing left to do is decide whether staying is worth it, or it's time to leave! Maybe if everyone leaves, they will finally understand that we are not children, and can decide for ourselves what we want, and it is definitely not the NEW FORMAT they are trying to force down our throats.
Over 5652 threads, and all of them negative to how users feel about the new Yahoo. You would think by now they would have realized that the negative comments are not going to stop, and that everyone just wants their old Homepage and Email back. The sad truth is that they are not coming back, because Yahoo will never admit that they made a huge mistake. So although I come back to see if anything has changed, by now I guess I should realize it never will. People we can complain forever, but unless someone is listening, which they are NOT, nothing will ever change. The only change possible is to go to another site for your homepage. Choose from uStart, Protopage, MSN, Google, and I know there are more out there. But since they aren't listening why should any of us continue beating our heads against a brick wall. It's time to move on, because Yahoo certainly has!!!!!!
I agree with Dan. They are going in and deleting out threads with HUGE volumes of comments concerning the old homepage and how everyone hates this one.I was with Yahoo for over 17 years and I loved my homepage, but like Dan says below they are not listening and they don't care, so people it's time to leave them behind like they did us. There are other sites out there to include Protopage, MSN, Google, uStart, Hotmail, and many more. I left over a month ago and have a new homepage and I really like a lot. And an awesome feature!! My weather is now located where I live not in Sunnyvale, California. Also there is a website within Petition.org where you sign a petition to bring the old homepage back. I doubt it will work but it's worth a try. Here is the site: http://www.change.org/petitions/yahoo-give-my-yahoo-users-the-option-of-using-either-the-old-or-the-new-formats-instead-of-only-offering-the-new-format But what you really need to do is LEAVE so they get no money for their advertising. Who know if there advertising stops maybe then they will listen, but by then it may be too late.

I agree that the new Yahoo sucks!! And I also will be changing my homepage very shortly, but wanted to let you all know if you go to uk.my.yahoo.com, your old homepage will come up. Unfortunately it is short lived since the UK is being switched over on March 31.
I have been with My Yahoo for almost 20 years, and being forced to switch without the option to keep my old home page really has me hot. If someone wishes to switch, fine, let them, but for those of us who liked the page we had, to be told we have to switch really stinks, and I will not be forced to keep something I do not want. So on March 31, after almost 20 years I will be switching to Protopage. The only way they are going to listen is to really leave! Maybe after we all leave this sinking ship, they might have the brains to realize all they had to do was give us the option, leave the plug in the ship or pull it. They gave us neither. Good Bye Yahoo.
