It does not make sense that players that are expected to be out for weeks automatically get the Q designation on Tuesday and making them not able to remain on IR even though it is well known they aren't playing that week. This causes players that need to utilize waivers to (1) either not be able to put in waivers because they have an "ineligible" player on IR even though that player is not going to play but the roster is locked until you move that player to the active roster, or (2) drop a player they didn't want to drop just so they can move that IR player to the active roster so they can unlock their roster so they can make other moves on the waiver wire/FA market. It makes no sense and only screws team owners over more in addition to the fact they have a player out for weeks and need to find help.
Alternatively, move players to Doubtful and make that IR eligible.
Two very easy solutions I hope Yahoo adapts, as I have seen this be a constant request for years.
